The Kenya Association of Tour Operators (KATO) was formed in 1978 and has grown to become one of Kenya’s leading tourism trade Associations. We represent the interests of over 300 of the most experienced tour operators in Kenya and our membership comprises both large and small operators.

One of the key objectives of KATO is to create business opportunities for members and with that in mind, we partnered with Pesapal Ltd (a leading payment solutions provider) to create a Booking Engine for Members. With is facility, KATO members are able to access business leads and send quotations directly to interested travellers. By using the Booking Portal, clients have access to: 

1. Variety of Quotations – each request posted by a prospective visitor will received a maximum of three responses from bona fide KATO members.
2. Quality Assurance – KATO members are bound to adhere to the highest possible standard of service delivery.
3. Mediation/Arbitration – in the unlikely event of a disputed over services rendered, the KATO Ethics and Standards Sub-Committee will mediate the matter and give a ruling.
4. Member Bond Scheme - protects consumers against involuntary insolvency should a Member be declared bankrupt before delivering the contracted services.
