Exceptional Tour to Nairobi, Naivasha& Maasai Mara
What to Expect
The tour will commence with an excursion of the Kiambethu Tea Farm and the Giraffe Center it will also include sampling of various cuisines in Nairobi and its environs. On the second day of the tour, you will get to explore Naivasha and its beauty - the Lake with its bloat of Hippos. Day three and four will be spent out in the wild - Maasai Mara; the tour will include game drives as well as an experience of the Maasai culture with the Maasai Village visit.
Day 1
The tour will begin in the morning in Nairobi, you will be met by an office representative at an agreed location; a detailed briefing will be conducted and thereafter you will depart to the Kiambethu Tea Farm. At the farm, a brief history of the farm and the processes of making tea will be explained over a cup of tea/coffee and thereafter you will get an opportunity to explore the tea fields with the resident guide. Lunch will be served at the farm house and afterwards you will depart to the Giraffe Centre.
The Giraffe Centre is home to the indigenous Rothschild giraffe, here you will get to learn about the history of the Centre as well as interact with the giraffes and feed them; an out of the world experience.
A 'Beast of A Feast' dinner will be served at the Carnivore Restaurant, the restaurant does not conform to the familiar restaurant traditions; after the starters are served, an army of carvers move from table to table carving juicy cuts of meat to guest.
Retire for the night.
Day 2
In the morning after a sumptuous breakfast, your designated tour guide will meet you at the hotels reception and you will depart to Lake Naivasha. You will start the safari venturing through beautiful landscapes of our great country Kenya as you head towards the Lake.
You will arrive at the hotel, check in and proceed for lunch.
After lunch, you will get to enjoy a boat ride on the beautiful Lake Naivasha which is a freshwater lake and the second largest freshwater lake in Kenya. It is a haven to more than 200 species of birds including the fish eagles, ospreys, lily-trotters, black crakes and a variety of herons. The waters of the lake draw in a great range of game to its shores from Giraffes wandering among the acacia to Buffalo wallowing in the swamps to Colobus monkeys calling from the treetops while the Lake's largest hippopotamus population sleeps the day out in the shallows of the lake.
Afterwards, have dinner at the hotel and an overnight stay.
Day 3
Enjoy Breakfast at the lodge before departing to Kenya's famous game reserve. You will start the day venturing through the Great Rift Valley as you travel to the most northern extension of the Serengeti Plains and to one of the richest wildlife Game Reserves, the Maasai Mara.
Maasai Mara is one of the seven natural wonders of Africa and one of the ten wonders of the world. It is a true home to the big five i.e. The Lion, Elephant, Leopard, Rhino and Cape buffalo.
Amongst the wildlife that you will also get to see are the black-manned lion, stately giraffes, and vast herds of elephants, rhino, thundering herds of zebra, migrating wildebeest and numerous other plains game. You will arrive at the lodge in time for lunch, check in and freshen up then have lunch and afterwards head to The Park to enjoy a late afternoon game drive.
In the evening, relax as you await for a sumptuous dinner at the lodge and afterwards retire for the night.
Day 4
On the second day of your safari, you get the chance to fully explore the wild - full day in the wild! Get to spend the day in the worldâs most famous reserve that offers an abundance in herbivores; the Mara makes an ideal hunting ground for the big cats and the pride of lions. It is also known for the annual Great Migration of the Wildebeest, Zebras and the Thomson's gazelles that migrate to and from the Serengeti every year from July to October.
Rise early for a morning game drive or have breakfast then head out for the morning game drive. After lunch, you will get an opportunity to experience the Maasai culture at the Maasai Village; the excited villagers will welcome you with song and dance as they usher you into their homesteads. The Maasai Village huts called the Manyatta are made of cow dung that is plastered over neatly layered stick frames. The process is quite practical as the Maasai maintain large herds of cattle hence the generous supply of cow dung for this.
Day 5
Much as we would like your tour with us to last forever, sadly today marks the end of your safari. Having shared so many wonderful experiences together; it is time to say goodbye and look back together on an amazing safari. We hope that you will come back to travel with us again someday. Enjoy your last meal in Kenya, check out and drive back to Nairobi for your flight home.
