What to Expect

A 3 Days Famous Mara Plains: Masai Mara National Reserve is one of the most popular tourism destinations in Kenya; located in the open grassland on the floor of the Great Rift Valley. The annual wildebeest migration alone involves over 1.5 million animals arriving in July and departing in early October. There have been some 95 species of mammals, amphibians, and reptiles, and over 400 bird species recorded on the reserve.

Day 1

Day 1: Nairobi - Masai Mara National Reserve

You will be picked up from your Nairobi Hotel by the guide then depart to Maasai Mara Game Reserve. Stopover at the viewpoint, the western Great Rift for 30 mins as you take pictures and a short rest then proceed to Masai Mara arriving at your lodge in time for lunch. Our journey will deepen into the Masai plains. After lunch and a short rest, we will start the first introduction game drive in the afternoon, tracking the various animal species and birds that inhabit here with your driver guide until sunset.

Day 2

Day 2: Masai Mara National Reserve

Our day starts with breakfast at the camp and by 0800am we will leave with picnic lunches in hand for an extensive game drive. The landscape here is scenic savanna grassland on rolling hills. This reserve is the best park for games in Kenya as it has an extensive road and track network that allows for close-range viewing and photography. Your game drive will include a visit to the Mara River, which is a point of migration and a place to spot crocodiles and hippopotamus and break for a picnic. Your game drive will continue till 1700hrs, after which you will get out of the park for two hours of optional activities.

Day 3

Day 3: Masai Mara National Reserve - Nairobi

Wake up early in the morning for a pre-breakfast game drive to track the wildcats as they hunt and kill their prey. If you are lucky you will witness a hunt and a kill! At 0930am we will return to the lodge/camp for a full breakfast. We will later depart the Mara region for Nairobi arriving in the mid-afternoon. Your drop off will be at your choice of either a hotel or the airport.
