Staring up with a stop at Meru National Park;home of the late Joy and George Adamson and Elsa the lioness. Renowned for its Elephant herd and Northern endemic spices with fantastic flora and changing terrain this park is always a marvellous start point. Animals that are found in this park are leopard, Lions, Cheetah, Elephants, both grevy and plans Zebra and also white/black Rhino.

From there, drive North to Samburu and Shaba Reserves. These reserves are popular due to the diversity of free-ranging wildlife which is uncommon to other safari regions. Large Elephant herds (about 1,000 strong) and lions frequent the lush riverside in Samburu while the plains are favored by cheetahs. Wil dogs can also be seen here, always on the move. Unique or rare species found in this area include Somali Ostrich, Gerenuk, Pancake tortoise, Grevy zebra, Reticulated giraffe and the Beise Oryx.

Shaba is a place of experience, associated with Joy Adamsom (author of Born Free), who spent her last years in the reserve returning a leopard into the wild.

After the drive down memory lane and great sightings, you will drive down to Ol Pejeta Wildlife Conservancy; which is famous for its chimpanzee. The Big five can also be encountered here: lion, buffalo, elephant, leopards and also a healthy breeding population of highly endangered black rhinos.
