What to Expect
A haven of white sandy beaches, opulent private villas and an array of Mediterranean cuisine is what's in store for you in the Diani Experience.
Day 1
Travel from Nairobi to Mombasa in the morning SGR train cruise. Upon arrival transfer from the railway terminus to a city tour of Mombasa top attraction sites. Start with the Fort Jesus Museum, a famous Portuguese military fortification and landmark then proceed to the Old Town and cherish it's fine architecture and culture. Dinner and overnight stay in resort of your choice.
Day 2
Early breakfast and departure for Shimba Hills National Reserve for a full day game drive. Get a chance to see the rare sable antelopes as well as buffaloes, elephants, giraffes, monkeys and various species of birds in a luxurious safari vehicle. After the drive get to enjoy the 82 foot Sheldrick falls with a natural plunge pool at the foot. A shower in the cool clean waters of the falls or a dip in the pool is quite refreshing. transfer to Zarafa House in Diani for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3
Relax as you enjoy the sand and sand in the Diani beach. Indulge in a plethora of guided marine activities with private boat tours and sail for about one hour searching for dolphins, before snorkeling and swimming in the Kisite marine national park. Next, sail to Wasini Island where your lunch of sea food and Swahili dishes will be served. After lunch, you'll have the option to stroll around the island and experience the local Swahili culture, visiting the beautiful coral garden, mangrove forest and fishing village. Dinner and overnight stay in the villas.
Day 4
Depart from Diani beach to Funzi Island for a half day trip filled with breathtaking scenery at the heart of a bay full of islands protected by a coral reef. At Funzi, we will take you on an adventure-filled day through a maze of mangroves in a motorized canoe. Your tour begins with a trip up the Ramisi River which flourishes with exceptional birdlife. Enjoy a stop at the sandbank for swimming. Later visit a village on Funzi island where Lunch will be served at a restaurant and get to have a taste of the local delicacies. After relaxing return to the mainland by boat and transfer to the SGR terminal for departure.
