First Time Kenya Safari
What to Expect
Looking to get started with your first African Safari? Spend time encountering huge herds of wildebeest and experience the extraordinary beauty, rich heritage and vibrant culture of Kenya’s Masai Mara with an array of activities and adventures created to inspire your spirit. From game viewing safaris to spot the “Big Five†(elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard and rhino) to hot air balloon rides high above the African savannah.
Day 1
DAY 1: NAIROBI
On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you shall be transferred to the hotel for accommodation and be briefed about your on various destinations, as well as the do's and dont's at each destination.
Day 2
DAY 2: ABERDARES NATIONAL PARKHighlights | Kenyan Highlands, Game Drives, Mt. Kenya, Forest Elephants
Early morning departure to the Aberdares National Park. Along the transit you shall enjoy the scenic view of Kenya's highlands. Start of your adventure with a morning adventure with a game drive and you might spot wild game such as; Forest elephant, Bongo, Buffaloes, Hyenas and views of Mt. Kenya. At 1230hrs you shall check in at the hotel where you shall be served with lunch. At 1600hrs you will have an evening game drive at the park again you might see animals such as; Bush babies, Mongoose and Porcupine, also you might see bird’s species such as common Bulbul, Shrikes, Weaver, Sparrows, Lapwings among others. Later at 1800hrs you shall be transferred back to your Hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3
DAY 3: LAKE BOGORIAHighlights | Hot Springs, Flamingoes, Grant Gazelle, Game Drives
Early morning departure to Lake Bogoria. In transit you shall enjoy the scenic views of the Great Rift Valley. Embark on a game drive and you might see animals such as Leopard, tortoise, Impala, Dik-dik, Zebras, Grant gazelle, Warthog among others. At 1200hrs. you shall check in at Lake Bogoria Spa and Resort where you shall be served with lunch. At 1600hrs. you shall have an evening game drive at the lake where you shall have a chance to walk a few meters to the hot springs and have breathe taking view of the Great Rift Valley. You might see bird’s species such as African fish eagle, Flamingos, Grey crowned crane, Hamercop among others. Later at 1800hrs you shall be transferred back to Lake Bogoria Spa and Resort for accommodation and supper and prepare for tomorrow's tour to Lake Naivasha at 0700hrs.
Day 4
DAY 4: HELL'S GATE NATIONAL PARKHighlights | Great Rift Valley, Giraffes, Giraffes, Game Drive
At Lake Bogoria Spa and Resort you shall be served with breakfast at 0625hrs. and later check out of the hotel at 0700hrs. and depart for Hells Gate National Park. In transit you shall enjoy the scenic view of the Great Rift Valley. After checking in at Hells Gate National Park,you shall kick off to a morning game drive where you might spot wild animals such as: African buffalo, zebra, Thomson’s gazelle, baboons and 100 species of birds like vultures, eagles, augur buzzard and swifts.
Hells gate is also home to three geothermal power stations at olkaria. The park is equipped with three campsites and includes a Maasai cultural center, providing education about the Maasai tribes culture and traditions. You might opt out to have a cycling game drive at the park offered at an additional cost.
At 1230hrs. you shall check out of the park and be transferred to a lodge for lunch. Later you might opt to do an evening boat ride or unwind at the hotel as you prepare for tommorrows tour to Maasai Mara National Reserve.
Day 5
DAY 5: MAASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVEHighlights | Large Concentration of Wildlife, Big Five, Maasai People, Game Drives
Early morning departure to Maasai Mara National Reserve, home to the wildebeest migration. In transit you shall enjoy the scenic views of the Great Rift Valley and different settlements of people of Kenya not forgetting large herds of Maasai communities. 1100hrs Expected arrival time Maasai Mara National reserve.In Maasai Mara you shall enjoy a 2-day game drive. Lunch will always be served from 1230hrs at the lodge and accommodation offered. In the two day's you might have a chance to see a variety of wild animals such as Lions, Leopard, Cheetah, Elephants, Buffaloes, Maasai giraffe, Spotted hyenas, Dwarf mongoose, Hippos in the pool, Baboons, Impalas, Topis among others. Bird species that you might encounter include; Oxypecker, Marabu stock, Martial eagle, Woodpecker, Gebes, Hornbill, Wagtails, Tropical boubou among others. You will also have a chance to see the famous Mara river where thousands of wildebeest cross every year accompanied by plain zebras. You will also have a chance to visit Maasai Manyatta and have a taste of their culture this includes participation dances, milk mixed with blood, making of fire from hardwood and soft wood,while at it you can also buy their art crafts. Later at 1800hrs. you shall be transferred back to the Lodge for accommodation and dinner.
Day 6
DAY 6: Depart Mara
Bid farewell to Maasai Mara with a morning game drive as you transit back to Nairobi for your departing flight.
