A small town on the southern eastern coast of Lake Turkana, meaning a “place of many trees” in the local Samburu dialect though it’s currently largely occupied by the Turkana speaking people. It was founded near a freshwater spring. Fishing, tourism and gold panning is a major economic activity with the locals. Though a small town, it is vibrant and has many amenities that a town can need
