About Amboseli National Park

Amboseli is the Ruler of African Skies as it hosts the backdrop of the Majestic Mt. Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest mountain free-standing at an altitude of 5,895 Meters. A visit to the park treats one with a rich experience of wildlife, including big elephant population with very huge tasks, leopard, lion, various antelope species, reptiles and birdlife among other unique attractions. In Amboseli National Park

Amboseli national park can be visited all year around, but is most ideal during the dry seasons which start from June to October, and December to February, when roads are dry and in good condition for game drive viewing.   
Bird watching or birding is best done in the wet season when the migratory birds arrive in the park, from April to June and November to December.

How to get to Amboseli  

  • By Road: From Nairobi, Amboseli national park can be easily accessed using Namanga road in order to pass through Meshanini gate. This is a 240 kilometer drive, and 4hours drive.An alternate route is Nairobi to Emali tarmac using Mombasa Road. This is 228 kilometers (149 miles) and a 3 hours' drive. 
  • By Air: Domestic charter flights or scheduled flights flying to Amboseli national park originate from Nairobi Wilson Airport and Moi Airport Mombasa, to one of Amboseli airstrip. This is a 30 minutes flight.
