The A109 road Nairobi-Mombasa and a railway divides it from the adjoining Tsavo East National Park. Together with adjoining ranches and protected areas, they comprise the Tsavo Conservation Area

How to get to Tsavo West National Park
By Air: Charter flights are available from Nairobi Wilson Airport to the Tsavo West National Park airstrip.
By Rail: The Madaraka Express inter-county train from Nairobi to Mtito Andei takes 2 hours 50 minutes. Taxis and shuttles are available on demand for the 2 hour 45 minute drive to Tsavo West National Park.
By Road: There is an option of a 6 hour bus drive from Nairobi to Voi, then get a 1 hour 30 minute drive to Tsavo West National Park. If self driving, this will be a 6 hour drive through Mombasa road from Nairobi to Tsavo West National Park. The road distance is 348.3 kilometer (216.4 miles).
