6 days Tanzania Wildlife Safari

What to Expect

6 days Safari to experience the great Serengeti, the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater and the scenic Lake Manyara.

Valid: October 2021 -December 21st 2021

Day 1

Pick up from Kilimanjaro International Airport and we transfer you to your hotel. Overnight at Kahawa Lodge (3.5*) (BB)

Day 2

After breakfast we depart at 0900am for Lake Manyara National park to reach your lodge in time for lunch. Lake Manyara provides the perfect introduction to Tanzania's birdlife. More than 400 species have been recorded, and even a first-time visitor to Africa might reasonably expect to observe 100 of these in one day. Highlights include thousands of pink-hued flamingos on their perpetual migration, as well as other large water birds such as pelicans, cormorants and storks. The park is home to the tree climbing Lions, Hippo, Elephant, Zebra, Buffalo, Giraffe, Baboon, Blue and Vervet monkey, Warthog and more. About 350 species of birds have been recorded. This small park contains also five distinct vegetation zones thus supporting a large variety of birds and animals. Lake Manyara National park is famous for its large flocks of flamingos. In this park canoeing has recently been added to the tourist activities in this park at extra cost. This is a great way to see the park from a new perspective. After lunch we have an afternoon game drive followed by dinner Overnight at Lake Manyara Serena Safari Lodge (4*) (LD)

Day 3

After breakfast we depart at 0700am to the Great Serengeti National Park (14,763 sq km or 5,700 sq miles) as we game drive en route to reach your camp in time for lunch. Serengeti National Park is home to lion, leopard, Elephant, Cheetah, Buffalo, Zebra, Wildebeest, Eland, Wild dog, Gazelles, Crocs and more. Lot of birds includes the Eurasia migrants. Dinner and overnight at Acacia Central Camp (4*) (BLD)

Day 4

Day spent with morning and afternoon game drive. Remember this is the migration safari, hence your game drive will depend on the movement of the migrants and you may opt for a full day game drive armed with picnic lunch as your guide knows very well how to locate the herds. Overnight at Acacia Central Camp (4*) (BLD)

Day 5

After breakfast we depart with picnic lunch to our next lodge game drive en route to Ndutu area and Ngorongoro conservation Area. Lunch is taken at a picnic spot after which we continue game viewing. On the way you will pass the Olduvai Gorge where the English pair, Louis and Mary Leaky pioneered excavation work in the sixties. Some of the earliest archaeological deposits of human evolution were found here and a small museum (visit optional) documents these discoveries. Arrive at your lodge in the late afternoon for dinner. Overnight at Ngorongoro Oldeani Mountain Lodge (4.5*) (DBL)

Day 6

Wake up early for breakfast and depart your camp armed with picnic lunch then drive to Ngorongoro Crater where you will descend into the Crater floor (19.2 km of diameter, 610m deep, and 304 sq km) for game drive. All the Big five the Rhino, Lion, Leopard, Buffalo and Elephant live in this wonderful caldera. Others are Zebra, Hippo, Wildebeest, Hyena and more. Birds include flamingos on the Soda Lake, Geese, Storks, Vultures and more. Break for lunch at Ngoitoktok spring Picnic site; it will be an unforgettable experience! Ngorongoro Crater is often called 'Africa's Eden', the '8th Natural Wonder of the World'. A massive extinct volcano, its towering tree lined walls drop thousands of feet to a "Noah's Ark" of animals on the verdant floor below. This breathtaking oasis provides a haven for both predator and prey to live among grasslands, fresh springs and a large soda lake. Large herds of zebra, buffalo, antelope and wildebeest graze nearby while sleeping lions laze in the sun. At dawn, the endangered black rhino retreats to the thick cover of the crater forests after grazing on dew-laden grass in the morning mist. Nowhere else can such diversity in wildlife be experienced in such a short period of time! After lunch continue with game viewing and ascend the Crater in the afternoon and proceed to the Kilimanjaro Airport in time for your International homebound flight (BL) END OF SAFARI
