This is about 10 km out of Nairobi City Centre, in Karen and very close proximity to other tourist attractions of Nairobi National Park, Giraffe Centre, Sheldrick’s Elephant Orphanage and the picturesque Ngong Hills. This was named after the ownera, a Danish author called Karen who set it in an expansive coffee farm. The government set up a nutrition college here with the building housing the principle. The government then turned it into a stunning museum where it became a masterpiece showcase of handicrafts, postcards and other Kenya souvenirs. The grounds can also be rented for corporate functions, weddings and other events. It was made even more famous internationally by the release of the movie “Out of Africa”
