Takaungu is a small traditional Swahili village virtually untouched by western influence. It is recognised as one of the most spectacular parts of the Kenyan Coast. The village is located along a beautiful and pristine creek amongst cliffs and baobabs. A few kilometres further are Vuma Cliffs, with even more spectacular scenery of huge waves crashing against wild rough cliffs. Takaungu Beach is great for day trips, spectacular site for photographers, fishing, and hiking.
