What to Expect
Drive through the beautiful landscapes to reach the Samburu safari housing magnificent wildlife of Africa. Samburu’s diverse fauna includes rare Grevy’s Zebra, Beisa Oryx, Reticulated Giraffe, Somali Ostrich, Elephant, Lion, and Cheetah.
This sanctuary awaits you with 350 bird species including the sharp Kingfisher, Sunbird, Bee-eater, Marabou Stork, Bateleur and Palm-nut Vulture. Uaso Nyiro river with its evergreen vegetation summons beautiful herbivores for food, from where you can take their photographed memories home!
Day 1
Day 01: Nairobi – Samburu Game Reserve
Distance: 360 km (5 hrs, 30 min.) Drive north through cultivations of sisal and pineapple to the northern frontier district and on to Samburu National Reserve. Afternoon game drive in this reserve famous for its exclusive game viewing. Dinner and overnight at Samburu Simba Lodge, L,D.
Day 2
Day 02: Samburu Game Reserve
Full day of game viewing drives in this dry semi-arid park with its striking background view of the Mathew’s Range. The gently flowing Uaso Nyiro river which traverses this Park provides evergreen vegetation for the rare gerenuk, Grevy zebra and reticulated giraffe found in this park. All meals and overnight at Samburu SimbaLodge, B, L,D.
Day 3
Day 03: Samburu Game Reserve – Nairobi
Distance: 360 km (5 hrs, 30 min.). After breakfast, drive back to Nairobi, B.
