This is an urban upland natural resource forest located on the outskirts of Nairobi City Centre, covering about 1,000 ha. It’s a good example of corporate social responsibility and individual philanthropy securing a country’s natural resource. The forest offers Kenyans a leafy green break from the hustles and bustles of the city where they can walk, jog, sit quietly, picnic or even religious solitude. It is also an important water catchment area with a 15-metre waterfall, sacred caves, an abandoned quarry pond named Lily Lake, bamboo patches, marshlands and an old chimney incinerator.
