About Nairobi National Park
The world’s only full-fledged national park within urban city limits, this park was gazetted in 1946 and is well spread from Langata to Karen areas and towards Ongata Rongai. It provides home to various wildlife species including the giraffe, buffalo, lion, rhino, hyena, hippo, cheetah, baboon, wildebeest & zebra and even the occasional leopard among other wildlife variety. Birdlife here is quite prolific with over 600 species spotted. Points of interest here include, the Ivory Burning Site Monument, picnic spots, Sheldricks Elephant Orphanage, Hyena Dam, Hippo Pool, Nairobi Tented Camp, Animal Orphanage and Nairobi Safari Walk
