What to Expect
This camp is located in East Africas largest black rhino sanctuary (Ol Pejeta Conservancy) and is a major home to very high wildlife population density including white rhino, the rest of all the Big Five, very high rare Grevys Zebra population (with thin stripes, bigger ears, bushy tail and a totally white stomach unlike the common ones along Naivasha highway, Nakuru, Mara, Nairobi & Amboseli), giraffes, silver-backed jackal, hyena, African wild dog, oryx, hartebeest (kongoni), cheetah, chimpanzee and an array of birdlife among others. It also hosts the Jane Goodall Chimpanzee (hosting orphaned, abandoned rescued chimps) and the Morani Information Centre, named after the tame resident black rhino-Morani, that was orphaned by poachers in Amboseli Park when only 6 months old (died in 2008 aged 19 years). The sanctuary also boasts to be one of the last abode of the northern white rhino (less than 5 remaining on earth)
Day 1
Morning meeting-point at the City Centre at 07:00 am for a brief introduction with the driver-guide and departure for safari northwards past the pineapple town of Thika and straight ahead to the equator town of Nanyuki where you will then branch off to Laikipia where you enter the sanctuary. Arrival at your camp in the sanctuary is in time for check-in and lunch followed by a short rest.
Later afternoon, a game viewing drive in the sanctuary follows to run until sunset and then return to camp.
Dinner and overnight at a game camp (L,D)
Day 2
Full day spent fully in the sanctuary inclusive of game-viewing in the morning, lunch & in the afternoon with a visit to the Chimpanzee institute and Rhino Sanctuary in this very wildlife-rich destination. In the evening you return to your camp for overnight.
Dinner and overnight at a game camp (B,L,D)
Day 3
After breakfast you depart for your drive back to Nairobi City to mark the end of your safari.
